3. Packers corners vs Vikings receivers

Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are arguably the best WR duo in the NFL. They’re both among the top-15 at the position and present a mismatch for the Vikings every week. The Packers revamped the cornerback position for situations like this. They went out to get bigger, stronger and faster corners to match up with the best duos in the league. Allen Robinson is good, but this week will really test their metal.

It’ll be interesting to see the matchups that Mike Pettine employs, and it’s possible that Jaire Alexander could matchup with Pro Bowler Adam Thielen a lot in the slot. This will be a tough test for the rookie, who is riding high after a strong finish in week one. Tramon Williams could also travel into the slot to match up with Thielen, but the Packers may need him on the outside. Alexander can handle an island if it comes down to it.

Diggs will have a revolving door on who is covering him. Unless the Packers go with shadow coverage, his matchup will change on any given snap. The Packers can’t afford to let Diggs pick them apart and wear them down. They need to be physical and bump him off his spot to throw off his game. Diggs has been taken out games in the past, and the Packers have the talent to do the same, but they have to execute.
