5. Packers receivers vs Vikings corners

In the past, the Packers offense has struggled against elite physical corners. Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes are one of the better duos in the NFL at the cornerback position. Rhodes may or may not shadow Davante Adams on Sunday, which could make life difficult for both he and Rodgers. Adams has quickly moved his way up the wide receiver ranks in the past couple seasons, but Rhodes is still an elite player at the cornerback position.

Randall Cobb was Rodgers’ go-to guy last week during the comeback in the second half. His 75-yard play capped a 24-3 run the Packers went on during the second half. He and Rodgers have developed a great connection during their time together, which allows him to be in the right place at the right time. When he plays in the slot, he will draw rookie Mike Hughes, which should allow him to use his veteran savvy to make some big plays happen.

Geronimo Allison vs Waynes is the wild-card matchup to watch here. Allison had a great week last week, highlighted by a beautiful touchdown catch that helped spark the Packers’ run. Waynes is a different caliber of player than Bryce Callahan or Prince Amukamara. If he’s able to consistently win his matchup the Packers offense should hum. Also, watch for Jimmy Graham to bounce back after a slow week one in a tough matchup with Harrison Smith.
