The Green Bay Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings this week in a battle of Super Bowl contenders. There are a lot of interesting storylines in this game.

After an amazing comeback in week one over the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings at home in week two. When he plays, the Packers become an instant Super Bowl threat.

However, when he doesn’t, the team’s flaws are even more noticeable. Last week, in the first half, after Rodgers left the game, the team looked completely disjointed on offense and got picked apart on defense.

This week, the entire game plan changes if Rodgers is unable to play. While he said after the game last week that he’d be playing, complications can always arise. However, for the purposes of this, we’re operating under the principle that he will be playing. While he may be limited due to that knee injury, he can still pick apart defenses with the proper game plan. The Packers have the ability to be successful on both sides of the ball if they play how they did in the second half.

It’s still early in the season, but, in the competitive NFC, the Packers need to focus on winning their home games. Their road slate is pretty rough down the stretch of the season, which is why this matchup matters so much. They take on the Vikings in an early matchup that should be the prime matchup of the early time slot. Watch for these matchups to be major deciding factors Sunday afternoon, as the Packers look to push to 2-0 to start the year.
