2. Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State
Now that the Packers appear to have addressed their cornerback position with Jaire Alexander and Joshua Jackson in the first and second rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft, they should turn their attention to their pass rush.
Montez Sweat is one of the best pass-rushers in the country and could bring that the table in the NFL. He recorded 10.5 sacks last season to go along with 48 total tackles (15.5 of those for a loss). The man lives in the backfield. He has already recorded three sacks in two games this season.
Even against the run, Sweat is solid. He’s very disciplined and can hold his own on the edge. He also has a great first step and is always active. He has a great frame for the position and stands 6-foot-6 which allows him to leverage his great height and length. He also has an awesome motor and always pursues the play no matter where he is on the field.
