6. DeMarkus Lodge, WR, Ole Miss

And here we are back at the receiver position. This is the second-to-last one, I promise. Scouts honor. Lodge is projected to go in the early 20’s of the 2019 draft, so we might be creeping a little high for the Packers’ pick (I hope). However, there are some signs that the New Orleans Saints’ pick, which Green Bay owns, might be a bit higher than we originally thought.

DeMarkus Lodge is a four year player at Ole Miss who is more hype than results as of right now. He’s only recorded 63 career receptions and his best year was in 2017 when he recorded 41 catches for 698 yards and seven touchdowns. However, in the one game he played this year, he hauled in six passes for 96 yards.

Lodge is a very fluid athlete who is a great route-runner and has a high football I.Q. He can stretch the field just as easily as he can run a crossing route or a slant. Unfortunately, Lodge hasn’t shown he can finish his routes on a regular basis, drawing some concerns from NFL scouts.
