1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo now tops both the Bucks’ best offensive player list and the best defensive player list. What an honor!

Once again, this is no surprise, as Antetokounmpo is just as dynamic and special on defense as he is on offense. He is one of maybe three or four players in the NBA who can truly defend all five positions and do an adequate or better job at it. Even though he’s traditionally lined up as the power forward, Budenholzer will be able to use the Greek freak in a variety of ways.

Antetokounmpo can step up high to defend pick and rolls or play tenacious weak side defense and swat opposing team’s shots at the rim. He’s also long enough to stick with wings on the perimeter, give point guards fit on the perimeter and body with bigs down low.

No matter which way you slice it, Antetokounmpo is Milwaukee’s best defensive player and a complete game-changer. It will be extremely exciting to see how the new coaching staff utilizes his skills and maximizes his unique and once in a lifetime skillset.
