Stock up: Randall Cobb

A lot of critics believed Randall Cobb should have been the receiver released this offseason instead of Jordy Nelson. Even after Nelson was gone, some believed the Packers should cut him in order to save salary cap money. Hopefully, Cobb put all that nonsense to rest with his Week 1 performance.

Cobb led the team in both receptions (nine) and yards (142) while also posting a 15.8 yards per catch average to go along with his one touchdown. The 142 receiving yards was a new career-high for Cobb and a sign of great things to come for the receiver in his contract season.

If Cobb can continue producing like Week 1, then he and Davante Adams form a scary 1-2 punch. Perhaps, even one of the best duos in the NFL. We’ll see if he can stay hot in Week 2 against the dangerous Minnesota Vikings, but things are looking up for the former second-round pick.
