Stock down: Clay Matthews

What the heck was Clay Matthews doing for most of this game? He continuously looked out of sorts and confused, often resulting in big plays for the offense. Not to mention his bonehead roughing the passer on a fourth down that gave the Bears new life to try to win the game in the final two minutes. Lucky for Matthews, the Packers bailed him out four downs later.

There were also a number of other plays Matthews was completely lost on. When you add in the missed tackles as well, it was a night to forget for the former Pro Bowler.

Hopefully, this was just a blip on the radar and nothing to be concerned about long-term. Sure, Matthews isn’t the player he used to be, but that doesn’t mean he has to be this awful. Green Bay was and is relying heavily on Matthews to produce at the position. The only player of note they have behind him is Reggie Gilbert. Other than that, they’re in trouble.
