Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver Geronimo Allison proved on Sunday night that he is headed to be a household name in the NFL.

Geronimo Allison played a huge role in the Green Bay Packers historic comeback victory on Sunday Night football. He could very well be the next Jordy Nelson for Aaron Rodgers.

Allison’s career to this point has been interesting, to say the least. He was undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft and later picked up by the Packers. Eventually, the Packers cut ties with Allison. Later, he returned and signed as a member of the practice squad.

Allison was suspended for the first game of the 2017 season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Currently, his resume is lacking. During the 2016 season, Allison only tallied 12 receptions for 202 yards. Two of those receptions were touchdowns. During the postseason, he hauled in five balls for 65 yards.

The 2017 season wasn’t exactly a big leap. Allison only caught 23 passes for 253 yards and zero touchdowns.

What he showed on Sunday night however, proves he is the big threat that has kept him on the 53. It also showed number 12 has some huge trust in him. Allison was targeted eight times. He was able to reel in five of those for 69 yards and one huge touchdown-a 39 yard, perfectly placed touchdown pass.

The most important stat, was the average reception yardage. At nearly 14 yards-per-catch, Allison proved he can be the deep threat that Jordy Nelson once was.

Green Bay is loaded with young unproven options at wide receiver. Rodgers will look for his top three trusted options early and often. Allison will see his number called frequently in the 2018 NFL regular season.

His 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame makes him a viable option for the Packers deep threat game.

G-Mo, lacks experience on the football field. He played only one season of high school football and two years for the University of Illinois. Don’t let that fool you of what an explosive weapon he will become for Rodgers.

Rodgers was in a very vulnerable spot and looked Allison’s way. A lot. He has established the full trust of one of the greatest, if not the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

Allison is in for a big season. He should be a popular waiver wire addition on all fantasy sport’s rosters this week. Look for his production to increase in a big way.

Randall Cobb is obviously the slot receiver who will fare well in PPR leagues and Davante Adams will catch his share of balls. Allison will be the top target for the remainder of those balls, for a team that will throw the ball frequently.

Geronimo Allison is soon to be a household name. Not only in the households of the green and gold faithful, but of football fans everywhere.
