Defense: B
The defense got off to a horrible start, giving up a touchdown on the opening possession of the game. They followed that up by allowing a field goal, but were solid the rest of the night, only giving up six points from there on out.
It was obvious new Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy had some creative sets dialed up for the opening series and it gave the Packers fits. However, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine was able to adjust his scheme and allow the Packers to hang in their long enough.
This grade could be a lot higher if the Packers’ players had shown up. Clay Matthews was a joke and was invisible for most of the night. There were multiple players who had opportunities to make plays in the backfield (Josh Jackson on a corner-blitz), but failed to wrap the ball-carrier up. Still, they did enough to give their team every chance to win and that’s exactly what happened.
