3. Get the rookie cornerbacks some run

This is a great game to throw the rookies in and baptize them by fire in their first regular season NFL game. Jaire Alexander (first round pick) and Josh Jackson (second round pick) should see the field plenty. Especially Alexander who’s the starting slot corner.

Trubisky and this passing game are much improved with the additions of Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Trey Burton. However, they have a long way to go. Alexander and Jackson will be able to take some risks and make some plays on the ball like they’ve shown all preseason long.

It will be important for Alexander and Jackson to get their feet wet in this league. Looming in Week 2 is the mighty Minnesota Vikings and their dangerous passing attack (that feels weird to type). Regardless, Alexander and Jackson can get a head start in preparation by playing well against the Bears.
