Green Bay Packers: 5 goals against the Bears in Week 1
4. Control the pace of the game
The Bears will likely attempt to slow the game down and play keep away from Rodgers and the Packers’ offense. Fans should expect running play after running play, while Mitch Trubisky leaks the play clock all the way down in between.
The good news is the Packers’ defense should be very stout against the run. They’ve added defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson and Kenny Clark‘s ascension should continue. This means Green Bay will be able to get off the field if the Bears are contempt with running the ball time and time again.
However, that’s easier said than done. Chicago has a good 1-2 punch in the backfield with Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. Howard is the more traditional runner and Cohen is the third-down specialist. It’s a matchup worth keeping an eye on throughout the game.
