Wisconsin Football: 5 players to watch versus New Mexico

3. Scott Nelson

Scott Nelson, the redshirt freshman for the Badgers, plays much more like a seasoned vet on the football field. At 6-foot-2 and 202 pounds, he looks like an upper classman as well.

Nelson quickly made his impact felt in Week 1 by wrapping up a team-high seven total tackles, including one for a loss, as well as two pass deflections. His ability to play all over the field is key to unlocking the Badgers other great defenders.

Nelson will also be tasked with trying to slow down Tuioti both in the passing game and on the ground. He should be able to use his athleticism to pick off a pass or two. If he can get his hands on a couple of passes, it could disrupt the whole game for New Mexico.
