Giannis Antetokounmpo is the unquestioned leader of the Milwaukee Bucks. Here are five expectations for him heading into the 2018-19 season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a special player who has the chance to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to something they haven’t done in a long time. Since 2001 to be exact. And that’s lead this franchise to a second round playoff appearance.

It’s been 17 (about to be 18) long years since the Bucks last made it out of the first round of the playoffs, something that is almost unfathomable considering the team they had at the time. Prime Ray Allen was bookended by Sam Cassell and Glenn Robinson who each had a lot left in the tank. Unfortunately, Bucks’ management made some bad moves and broke up the core of that team not too long after.

So here we are now, almost two decades later, and Milwaukee has one of the best players on the entire planet. If he stays a Buck, Antetokounmpo will break almost every franchise record along the way. I hate to even utter the first part of that sentence, but it’s the harsh reality in Today’s NBA which has seen a superstar in LeBron James get drafted by his hometown in Cleveland, later leave Cleveland, then returned, then left again.

Regardless of what’s happening with other superstars, Antetokounmpo has a huge burden of his own; he must carry the Bucks to the playoffs and beyond. Let’s preview five expectations for Antetokounmpo heading into the 2018-19 season.
