2. What kind of improvement has Mitch Trubisky made heading into his second season?
Trubisky made 12 starts for the Bears last season, throwing for 2,193 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. Not exactly numbers that jump off the page for you. What he did do, though, was show off his arm strength and provide a sliver of hope for the future.
Heading into Year 2, Trubisky will likely have made a nice jump. He has 12 games worth of experience and has adjusted to the speed of play in the NFL. How well he plays will be a great indicator of just how far this Bears team goes.
Trubisky also has improved weapons around him. Last year’s leading receiver Kendall Wright is gone, but they did bring in Gabriel and Robinson. He also has the advantage of being able to rely on a good running game with the duo of Jordan Howard and Cohen. His play will go a long way in determining the outcome of this contest.
