3. FB Aaron Ripkowski

Mike McCarthy likes to have fullbacks around but this year’s team won’t feature any. Ripkowski is yet another fan-favorite to be released. He was John Kuhn’s mentee before taking his spot in 2016.

Fullbacks are somewhat of a dying breed in today’s NFL and the Packers are finally catching on with the trend. They hardly get carries and most tight ends are just as good at blocking and better pass catchers. In three seasons Ripkowski only attempted 39 carries and had 17 receptions.

With Aaron Jones serving a two-game suspensions Green Bay only has two running backs listed on the depth chart. Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams should see a heavy workload for the first two weeks of the season.
