1. Outside Linebacker Vince Biegel

Former Wisconsin Badger Vince Biegel was unable to escape roster cuts despite playing at arguably the Packers thinnest position on defense. He got a pass last year after dealing with an injury for all of camp and the majority of the season. Fully healthy this offseason, he just never looked like he had it at this level. He never flashed the upside that made him a fourth-round pick last spring.

Against the Kansas City Chiefs, he looked particularly outmatched. He was manhandled by both offensive tackles, and he never showed any specific move or skill that would separate him from other edge rushers on the waiver market. Despite only going into his second season, the Packers felt there were better options they could claim that had been cut by other teams. They chose quality over quantity in this case.

Reggie Gilbert and Kyler Fackrell are the only players behind the oft-injured Clay Matthews and Nick Perry as things stand now. While they will likely add someone else, it’s surprising Biegel couldn’t stick around. Biegel will try to catch on with some other team now that he’s a free agent, but, after the offseason that he just had, he’s going to struggle to find a contender that’s willing to take him.
