2. Safety/Cornerback/Linebacker Quinten Rollins

After an exciting rookie season where he flashed some playmaking ability, Quinten Rollins just went downhill from there. He has struggled with injuries, as he’s never played a full 16 games in three seasons. He’s not a natural corner, but that was the position that he was forced to play. Throughout this preseason, he’s frequently looked out of position and uncomfortable. Simply put, he’s looked unlike a football player.

Despite this rough preseason, he managed to escape final roster cuts on Saturday, which was most likely due to his status as an injured player. The Packers drafted Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, while bringing back Davon House and former Packer Tramon Williams. This put Rollins deep on the depth chart, but the team continued to give him chances. At three different positions, he looked lost at all three.

It’s possible the team is going to place him on injured reserve or they may release him on an injury settlement. It’s tough to tell at this point, but he should consider escaping roster cuts a blessing. Despite the scheme change with a new coordinator who prefers versatility, Rollins has been unable to be successful. If he moves on from the Packers and is successful, then good for him, but his time in Green Bay should end sooner rather than later.
