The Green Bay Packers are just about to make their final cuts. What are the chances each player has to make the final 53-man roster?

The Green Bay Packers have some major roster decisions to make now that the preseason is completed. They wrapped up the exhibition games with a record of 2-2, losing their last two after starting off 2-0. Not that the record matters much anyways, as it’s the focus on the individual players that count.

Come Saturday Sep. 1 at 3pm Central, the Packers must cut their roster down from 90 players to 53. There will be a lot of tough decisions to make from now until Saturday and likely some surprise moves.

Everyone and their mom is making roster predictions at this point, so we wanted to take a different approach. We’ve assigned each player to one of five categories to predict the likelihood they make the final roster. Five stars means the players are locks to make the team and one star means there’s almost no chance they make the final 53-man roster. Here are the specific breakdowns for each rating:

5 stars- These players are the core of the Packers’ roster and will be on the team no matter what.

4 stars- These players will almost certainly be on the Packers final roster, barring a surprise, last-minute trade.

3 stars- These players have made strong cases to earn a final spot, but it the decision could go one way or another depending on how things shake out at their position.

2 stars- Unless something surprising happens, these players are unlikely to make the team. However, they are excellent practice squad candidates.

1 star- These players have no chance at making the roster and are extremely likely to be cut.
