1. The defense may have found two gems at corner

Alexander’s pick was the play of the night, but it would have gone to Josh Jackson if not for a defensive holding penalty.

Right before the first half ended, Jackson snatched a pass from the hands of receiver Seth Roberts and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown. Unfortunately, the play was called back due to a penalty on fellow corner Herb Waters. It would have been Jackson’s second week in a row with a pick-six after recording one last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On the other hand, Alexander’s interception actually counted and was pretty impressive. It manifested what players and coaches have been saying about the first-round pick through training camp.

He bounced back well after allowing a 49-yard pass to Amari Cooper on the first drive. Cooper beat him on a post route but Alexander made a great recovery to force a contested catch.

It wasn’t long after that he jumped a similar route with the pass thrown by Connor Cook. Alexander may be undersized at 5-10 but his leaping ability can disrupt even the tallest receivers.

Alexander and Jackson are quite the duo and the Packers secondary appears gaining momentum at the right time. In won’t be long behfore Green Bay’s top-two draft picks are making plays when it counts.
