2. The Packers are doomed if Bakhtiari or Bulaga get hurt

Kyle Murphy and Jason Spriggs started at left and right tackles which resulted in five quarterback sacks and eight QB hits.

Murphy looked especially bad as he failed to get off the ball efficiently and proceeded to get bulldozed by the Raiders edge rushers. He’s the Packers emergency left tackle right now, however, that position may want to be revisited by the coaching staff. Rodgers’ blindside would be in severe jeopardy if Bakhtiari had to miss time in 2018.

On the other side, Spriggs is one of the most disappointing draft picks in franchise history and tonight did not help his case. He was credited for adding weight the past two offseasons but his punch and lower body strength leaves a lot to be desired. The bull rush is the most winnable pass rush technique when facing Spriggs even though it is also the most basic. Time and time again he fails to sink his hips and dig in to prevent the pocket from collapsing.

Green Bay’s offensive numbers were so poor mostly because the blocking was so bad. It was a collectively mediocre performance, but Murphy and Spriggs stood out as major flops.

Either of them is at risk of being cut.
