2. Mike Budenholzer

After parting ways with Jason Kidd halfway through the 2017-18 season, the Milwaukee Bucks announced that Mike Budenholzer would be taking over as head coach this offseason. After a season that was strained by coaching changes, the organization went out and snagged the best available coach on the market.

Budenholzer was a great move for many reasons, including putting a rival Eastern Conference team in an awkward position. Budenholzer was the Toronto Raptor`s top candidate to replace Dwayne Casey, The Coach of The Year last season, who was fired after falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs yet again. By signing Budenholzer, they not only put themselves in the best position to succeed, but also set back one of their toughest adversaries.

Coach Budenholzer brings many things to the table, including his experience coaching in this league, and his ability to both be a part of and create a winning culture. He was an assistant coach under the great Gregg Popovich for nearly two decades before branching out and taking the head job in Atlanta. There, he was able to guide a lack-luster Hawks team to the best record in the Eastern Conference in just his second year on the job, without a player even close to Antetokounmpo’s skill level.

Acquiring a top ten coach was a huge step for Milwaukee. Now he will set out on a new mission, with the best talent he’s had the opportunity to coach, and attempt to make this team a top contender in the Eastern Conference.
