Green Bay Packers: Grades for each draft pick halfway through the preseason
Let’s take a look at each of the Green Bay Packers’ 2018 draft picks at the midway point of the preseason and hand them some grades.
How early is too early for a rookie progress report? The Green Bay Packers have played two preseason games in which all but one 2018 draft pick has seen action.
We’ve gotten a good look at the Packers top two picks, cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, and the three rookie receivers J’Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown who are experiencing their share of ups and downs.
The preseason can be a strong learning curve for first-year players, but it appears head coach Mike McCarthy wants to be patient when taking in the good and the bad. At the end of the day, he wants his roster to consist of players that put the team in the best position to win.

Gutekunst will obviously listen to his coaches, but his extensive background as a scout will play a key role in his decision making. Two games in, no one is safe and every pick has film they would like to put behind them.
Both Gutekunst and McCarthy are sticking to the mindset of keeping the best 53 players on the team, which doesn’t necessarily mean every rookie will make the cut. Evaluations have already started, but luckily for the rookies, there are two games left before any harsh choices will be made.
Halfway through the preseason, here are the grades for each of the Packers’ draft picks:
