The Green Bay Packers are just a couple acquisitions  away from becoming an elite team. Let’s complete that process for them.

Just like every single other team in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers are incomplete. They have holes on their roster that could benefit from getting filled even this late in August. That’s the unfortunate nature of a highly competitive league.

In this article, we take a fun, albeit unrealistic, look at five moves Green Bay can make to acquire veterans and fill in the gaps on their team. These moves will work within the actual constraints of the salary cap and will address the team’s major needs with players who are realistically available.

We begin with Green Bay’s cap space. According to overthecap.com, the Packers have $11.2 million in available money for 2018. That’s an important number because all of these deals are made to fit within that cap constraint. Also, the deals are made with the player’s current contract in mind and doesn’t assume Green Bay signs them to an extension immediately upon acquiring them.

So, without further ado, I encourage you to sit back and relax. Don’t take this activity too seriously. Someone will inevitably complain in the comments, “What’s the point of this article?” And, to that, I say, “to have a little fun.” Here are five moves the Packers can make to fill out their team with available veterans.
