Packers vs Raiders: 5 storylines heading into 3rd preseason game

5. Can Reggie Gilbert keep it up?

Reggie Gilbert has been a straight beast throughout August. He’s been nearly unblockable, even if it has been primarily against backups, and he appears to have taken Clay Matthews comments about their outside linebacker depth to heart.

So far in the preseason, Gilbert has racked up 2.5 sacks, four quarterback hits and six tackles. Those are pretty good numbers for a player who spent most of last season on the Packers’ practice squad.

With Nick Perry now off the Physically Unable to Perform list, Gilbert will slide a little bit further down the depth chart. However, that may be okay, as he’s playing himself into the primary backup role. That’s a critical position to be in considering the rotation at the position. Let’s find out if he can build on his great performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
