3. RB Devante Mays

Devante Mays has missed most of training camp and both preseason games dealing with a hamstring issue. McCarthy provided an update Monday and said the second-year running back did not receive an “encouraging” medical report and would not return to practice this week.

The Packers placed running back Akeem Judd on their reserve/retired list Saturday and used his spot to bring in Bronson Hill.

Mays was a seventh-round pick in 2017 and only appeared in eight games rushing for one yard on four attempts. Packers fans may sorely remember his first rushing attempt against the Baltimore Ravens resulting in a fumble.

Even if Green Bay were to keep four running backs, Mays’ spot would be given to Joel Bouagnon who has shown more upside in training camp and the preseason. Bouagnon has recorded 24 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown.
