Week 6 at Green Bay (MNF)

There is a ton of talent inside of the box on the 49ers defense. However, it has yet to translate onto the field.

Last season the 49ers finished 25th in points allowed and 24th in yards allowed. Not exactly ideal if you ask me. They do have a dependable pass defense with the addition of Richard Sherman to the mix so that’s something to keep in mind. However, one mam doesn’t make an entire defense.

But on a Monday night game at home, Aaron Rodgers will have his offense moving up and down the field on the young 49ers defense. And sure, their offense looks a little better with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback and the speedy Jerick McKinnon behind him.

It is very possible, however, that the 49ers turn it into a shootout. However, that’s a game they won’t win playing against Rodgers. They may be able to get to the Packers young secondary and attack them over the middle to put up some points. But if you ask me who I’m taking in a shootout, Rodgers or Garoppolo, it’s Rodgers all day. I’m still not totally sold on the 49ers as a whole, which is why I have them at number eight.

All in all, should be a win for the green and yellow.

Week 15 at Chicago

Of course, playing the Bears on the road will be tougher than at home, especially when it comes later in the season.

The way I see it the Packers should be in the playoff race and by this game looking to clinch a spot. The Bears, however, won’t be in playoff contention come this game. But I can assure you they’ll want to play spoiler against their long time rivals.

As far as the game itself goes, that’ll be harder too. Week one is much different than week 15. I expect Mitchell Trubisky to be much better than he will be in week one. I still expect the Bears defense to show up and play aggressive and physical.

However, I also expect growth from the Packers defense by this time. I expect Aaron Rodgers and company to put up points on this Bears team.

Like the first game, I see the Packers walking out of Soldier Field with a win in week 15. However, unlike the first game, I see the Packers squeaking by here. Don’t be shocked if they win this game by less than 10 points.
