Green Bay Packers: 3 takeaways from their 51-34 win over Pittsburgh Steelers
1. Jake Kumerow is on the final 53-man roster as of right now
If you aren’t already aboard the Kumerow hype train, now is your last chance. He followed up last week’s three catch 76-yard outing vs the Titans with a three catch 114-yard game this week.
In both contests, he has managed to score long touchdowns. Last week he caught a 52-yard bomb from Tim Boyle and this time he caught a pass from DeShone Kizer and turned it into an 82-yard catch and run.
Kumerow did end up leaving with a shoulder injury, but it does appear to be serious as he stated after the game it was just a “stinger”. The 26-year-old receiver has spent three seasons on three different practice squads, but now it appears his time has come to finally make a team. He’s proven to be more consistent than the Packers three rookie wide receivers and more importantly has already earned the trust of Rodgers.
Kumerow is the perfect example of hard work paying off.
