5. Josh Jackson vs Steelers receivers

Josh Jackson performed very well in the first week of preseason. If it wasn’t for a questionable holding call, he could have had the best week among Packers rookies. That’s saying something considering how well Marquez Valdes-Scantling played. While the Titans receivers are good, the Steelers, especially if Antonio Brown plays, are a different beast. JuJu Smith-Schuster was one of the top rookies in the NFL last season. James Washington could have been a first-round pick.

Jackson needs to work on his press man coverage. His size makes him even more of a threat to shut down players when he masters it. Brown likely won’t play, and, while the Packers starting corners may start, Jackson should be on the field early. He needs snaps to develop, and this is a way to get him on the field against legit NFL talents. If he is able to replicate last week’s success, he will have silenced the majority of the questions about him.

However, if he looks more like the player that was burned frequently at the start of camp, maybe last week was a fluke. Some said he was too slow to play at the NFL level which is why he fell to the second round. Jackson has the ability to make himself, Kevin King and Jaire Alexander one of the scariest trio of corners in the NFL, but he has to realize that potential. This will be a big building block week for him.
