4. What Order Do the Young Receivers Enter the Game?

Much like the quarterbacks, the young wide receivers made their presence known in a big way in the first preseason game last week. Marquez Valdes-Scantling got all the headlines, and rightfully so, but Equanimeous St. Brown, DeAngelo Yancey, and Jake Kumerow also made some nice plays. Even J’Mon Moore showed a lot of talent in the game despite the drops. That leads to the question of playing time against Pittsburgh and if any of them get any extensive snaps with Aaron Rodgers.

It’s expected that Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, and Geronimo Allison will start the game with Rodgers and the first team offense. But seeing who comes in afterward could be a big sign as to what the team thinks for the opening day roster. Last week is was Kumerow and Yancey who got the starts alongside Adams and Allison.

For this week, it’s most likely to see Valdes-Scantling and Kumerow as the first two guys off the bench with Yancey, St. Brown, and Moore rotating in throughout the drives. After a strong week one, this game could be the pivotal contest to solidify a roster spot in September.
