1. Badgers make College Football Playoff…but lose in first round

The first-ever College Football Playoff was held in 2014. It’s a four-team tournament selected by an independent committee. The committee picks who they believe are the four best teams in the Nation regardless of polls or rankings. Those four teams are then seeded and face one another in a semi-final game with the two winners moving on to the championship.

Since it’s inauguration, the Badgers have yet to sniff the playoffs. Last year was the closest they’ve come and they weren’t all that close following their loss in the Big Ten Championship.

Fortunately, that all changes this season.

Wisconsin will go 13-0 in the regular season, including the Big Ten Championship game, and force the committee to place them into the playoffs. Unfortunately, they’ll stutter in the semi-final and lose a close game to another powerhouse.

Even though this will be a disappointing way to end the season, it will prove Wisconsin has truly arrived. The Badgers will be able to use this national exposure to continue to catapult their team into the upper-echelon of the elites. The season will be an overall and overwhelming success.
