Green Bay Packers vs Tennessee Titans: 5 things we want to see
4. Which of the Young Receivers Can Stand Out?
In all likelihood, the Packers will be playing the Titans without Davante Adams and Randall Cobb. There’s no reason to risk injury with your top two targets in the first preseason game. But that also means that there will be plenty of playing time for the young targets battling for the fourth through seventh receiver spots.
The competition has been fierce, with J’Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown, DeAngelo Yancey, and Jake Kumerow have all shown flashes of being capable of being contributors to the 2018 Green Bay Packers on offense. Oh, and Trevor Davis has already made an impact as a return man.
Kumerow and Yancey especially have drawn praise from Aaron Rodgers, notably being mentioned as guys who’ve taken a step in Rodgers’ frustrated interview after Tuesday’s practice. This game will be where the contenders for a roster spot separate themselves.
Expect to see Moore, Kumerow, and Yancey get the starter reps early on in the game, with MVS, St. Brown, Davis, and the other receivers getting in early as well to show what they can do against a pretty solid Titan defense.
