2. Josh Jackson vs Titans Receivers

Josh Jackson has been abused by Packers receivers throughout camp. He’s had troubles catching onto Mike Pettine’s scheme. In a game setting, where he will likely run with the 1st defense, he’s going to be tasked with facing the Titans top receivers in this game. Cornerback is a position that the Packers have invested major resources to fix this offseason. Jackson’s draft status should likely keep him safe, but, if he continues to struggle, he might not be read for the NFL.

Against players like Adams and Cobb, he’s going to struggle due to their skill level and veteran savvy. The Titans receivers aren’t quite on that level of talent yet. While Corey Davis may get there, he isn’t there yet. Maybe Jackson just needed some time at full game speed against lesser talent. However, if he struggles against them, there aren’t a ton of receiving corps that possess less overall talent than they do.

Jackson has all of the physical tools necessary to succeed at the NFL level. He needs to work on his coverage abilities in Pettine’s system. He also just needs to get used to NFL game speed. This will be his first real chance to adjust to that. Jackson showed in college the ability to be a game changer at this level. Thanks to the depth in front of him, he won’t be thrown to the wolves just yet. However, he needs to show this week that he can fend them off he needs to.
