1. Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers remains the top of the quarterback pool in the NFL. He’s also the highest paid player on the Packers roster. Despite that, he’s only the 10th highest paid quarterback leaguewide. He performs at the highest level, and he gives this team the chance to compete when most other quarterbacks could not. Among the players above him on the list, nearly all of them would be unable to make some of the plays that he’s made in his career.

Rodgers regularly makes the impossible seem possible. Quarterback is a position that requires you to pay through the nose to get elite play. The Packers have been lucky enough to get more and more of a discount over the course of his deal. Every year, quarterback contracts get more expensive, yet teams still aren’t getting greater production than Rodgers. Rodgers’ extension is coming down the pike, which will decrease their bargain, but they have some time.

Rodgers is a two-time MVP. He can easily add a third one this season. The Packers have Rodgers under contract at his current number for the next two seasons. While that number will most likely be adjusted when he signs the extension, it stands as one of the biggest discounts in the NFL. Only Donald of the Rams is playing at a similar discount level, but he doesn’t impact the game at the same level that Rodgers does. Enjoy the discount while you can Packer fans.
