4. Kenny Clark

Kenny Clark is the 16th highest paid player on the roster. Among defensive ends, he has the 61st ranked salary. Last season, he ranked ninth among interior defenders per Pro Football Focus. Clark isn’t quite in the Aaron Donald realm of underpaid, but he is working his way there. He took a huge leap last season. With another possible Pro Bowler on his other side in Muhammad Wilkerson, he could take an even bigger leap this season.

After his rookie season, fans and analysts called Clark a bust. He didn’t put up eye-popping crazy numbers either year, but he was a consistent force up the middle. His quick first step allowed him to get up on guards quick, while his strength allows him to manhandle offensive linemen. With Mike Daniels and Wilkerson on either side of him, he’ll receive more one-on-one matchups for him to dominate.

Clark has the potential to be a top-5 defensive lineman this season. He can be one of the team’s best players on that side of the ball, and he can help them be a top-ranked run defense. While Clark will never put up big sack numbers like Donald or Geno Atkins, he will be a strong force up the middle of the defense. Clark has serious breakout potential this year to go from a good player to be one of the league’s best.
