4. Jaire Alexander

I’m sure you’ve heard about Jaire Alexander by now. If not from the media, from the rookie himself. Alexander, the Packers’ first round pick this season, certainly doesn’t lack confidence and will let you know when he’s made a play.

That’s exactly the type of swagger this defense lacked under Dom Capers, a coach who was more subdued than anything else.

Alexander has had his rookie struggles, to be sure. And those will most definitely continue throughout the rest of camp, preseason and into the regular season. However, he makes up for it with his great speed and ability to read a quarterback.

Alexander loves to watch the quarterbacks eyes, something he will need to adjust as time goes on. But, for now, it has allowed him to make numerous plays on the ball and come up with game-changing plays. He’ll most certainly have a few interceptions in the preseason and continue to prove why he was worth the selection at No. 18.
