Wisconsin Football: 5 reasons to be pessimistic for 2018 season

4. Fumbles

Similar to Hornibrook, Jonathan Taylor struggles to hold onto the ball as well. As a freshman last season, he put the ball on the turf seven times, losing five of them. When you combine that with Hornibrook’s picks, that’s 20 turnovers by the two Badgers who touch the ball the most. Simply unacceptable.

A lot of the fumbles happened when Taylor was fighting for extra yards, something he’s really good at. This is something a few of the great running backs have really struggled with, including the likes of Adrian Peterson.

Holding onto the ball was certainly on the top of Taylor’s offseason to-do list. The coaching staff is obviously willing to give him more chances, but don’t be surprised if an untimely fumble costs Wisconsin a game.
