Green Bay Packers: 5 players with the best offseason
2. Trevor Davis
At first glance, it appears Trevor Davis’ chances at making the Packers’ 53-man roster this season got a lot slimmer with the acquisitions at receiver. After all, Green Bay did spend three picks in the middle rounds of the draft on receivers.
However, Davis enters camp with a succinct advantage over his competition-he has been in this offense and the NFL the longest and should have the best understanding of what’s expected of him. He also has been around Rodgers longer which can lead to a better earning of his trust.
He proved this by kicking off camp on Thursday with some spectacular catches. He used his speed to get downfield and bust the top off the defense. Thanks to the great arms of the quarterbacks, they were able to find him downfield and get him the ball in advantageous positions. This could be the year Davis finally catches his game up to his speed.
