5. Travis Shaw

Travis Shaw had an excellent 2017 season with the Brewers which saw him ding 31 home runs and knock in 101 RBIs. Oh, and he also had a .349 on-base percentage. While all three are career-highs, he’s failed to live up to the hype this year.

Due to his previous success, he was being counted on to anchor the Brewers’ batting order in the clean-up position. The hope was he could replicate last year’s tremendous season and provide the Brewers with a lineup that was void of superstar hitters, but was dangerous 1-6 in the order.

Unfortunately, he’s struggled both in the field and at the plate this season. He’s only hitting .243, close to a career low and has 18 home runs and 57 RBIs. While the home run and RBI numbers are solid, he has a lot of room to bring up his batting average. Collecting more hits and getting on base more often will help jumpstart this offense and allow them to produce enough runs to win more ball games (duh).
