The Milwaukee Bucks have had a very impactful offseason so far. Here’s why they can be considered one of the winners in the NBA.

The Milwaukee Bucks have had a somewhat controversial offseason so far in 2018.  Depending on your perspective, arguments could be made to say they’ve had a successful or unsuccessful summer.

Milwaukee started it with a boom in hiring one of the best head coaches available in Mike Budenholzer. Then, they followed that up with a luke-warm draft pick in one-year wonder Donte DiVincenzo.

After that, they struck a contract with a free agent as soon as the signing period began, but it was a mid-level player in Ersan Ilyasova and they likely over paid for him. They wrapped things up by getting a steal on a potential starter in Brook Lopez and letting their former second overall pick, Jabari Parker, walk to a division rival.

However, no matter what perspective you take on the Bucks’ offseason, it’s hard to make an argument that they didn’t get better. Parker was a complete defensive liability and didn’t fit well into Budenholzer’s scheme. Without him, they should be a better defensive and passing team all around.

Even with the overpay of Ilyasova, both him and Lopez are valuable players to this Bucks roster. We’ll go into it in more detail in a bit, so let’s jump into the five reasons the Bucks are one of the offseason winners.
