Jabari Parker: D+

Since the Bucks renounced their rights to Jabari Parker, it’s technically a move they made this offseason. Regardless, this article would be incomplete without grading this huge loss.

Many predicted Parker wasn’t a good fit in Budenholzer’s scheme and would be allowed to walk this summer. However, losing a player of Parker’s talent and potential is a huge loss for Milwaukee. There were no realistic targets available to the Bucks in free agency that could impact the game like Parker could.

Sure, he might’ve created issues for the Bucks salary cap beyond this season, but a deal similar to what Parker signed with the Chicago Bulls would have made it a low-risk deal for the Bucks. A two-year $40 million contract with the second year being a team option. That would’ve allowed Parker to prove he’s further away from his second ACL injury. Of course, the Bucks made matching a deal like that impossible considering their signing of Ilyasova and Lopez.

To make matters worse, the Bucks lost Parker’s services to the Bulls. Chicago fans already have a penchant for showing out at Milwaukee’s home games and this is only going to make it worse. And wouldn’t it be the most Bucks’ thing ever to see their former second overall pick thrive and become a star with one of their biggest rivals?
