Brook Lopez: B+

Brook Lopez may not be the player he once is, but this was a great get for the Bucks. It also highlights the virtue of patience and shows why the Ilyasova deal was such a head scratcher. Lopez and the Bucks agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million deal-roughly half the price of Ilyasova.

Lopez is probably a better player than Ilyasova and will be penciled in as the starter at center.  At 30-years-old, he certainly has trouble staying in front of guys on the perimeter. This limitation will make it impossible for the Bucks to switch when he’s on the floor.

However, he’s a huge body that will give the Bucks someone to bang with the other big men on the interior. He’s also developed an outside shot over the last couple of seasons. Once again, the Bucks found someone who can space the floor and give their superstar as much room to work with as possible. Lopez was a great get and a tremendous value for the Bucks, earning the B+.
