Second quarter (1-3)

The Packers go from bad to worse in their second quarter of games. They have three road games and a bye mixed in the middle, but are unable to gain a winning record. They begin by traveling to Detroit to face the Lions in a divisional game. The Lions have gone 9-7 each of the past two seasons and make things difficult for the Packers by handing them a loss.

At 2-3, Green Bay desperately needs a victory. Thankfully, the San Francisco 49ers come to town. Some pundits are hyping San Fransicso after Jimmy Grappolo got hot and led them down the stretch last season. However, I’m not buying it and Green Bay is able to get back to .500 with a victory.

The Packers then have a bye, followed by one of the most difficult stretches of games they’ll see in 2018. Green Bay plays at the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. The Rams are projected to be one of the better NFC teams next season and easily take care of the Packers.

It doesn’t get any easier as the Packers travel to New England the following week. Green Bay once again gets handled by a Super Bowl contender and drop to 3-5 at the halfway point.
