A lot of people are sleeping on the Green Bay Packers as they enter the 2018 season. Here are five reasons they’ll likely surprise the NFL.

The optimism for the Green Bay Packers 2018 season has been extremely tempered compared to year’s past. This time around, most experts see Green Bay as a good, but not great team. One that could compete for the division title if everything goes right, but are more than likely going to be in a tough battle for the final Wild Card spot.

This type of thinking is a perfect example of recency bias. People have already forgotten how dominant this team is with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. They have forgotten Green Bay came within one game of the Super Bowl in two of the previous three seasons before missing the playoffs in 2017.

Even with this negative thinking, it’s hard to blame folks. The Packers were completely exposed last year when Rodgers went down. They didn’t have nearly the types of playmakers on either side of the ball to even come close to compensating for the loss of their MVP quarterback. This has understandably left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.

However, the Packers aren’t as flawed as outside media leads you to believe. They still have plenty of talent on this roster and have enough to get the job done. Here are five reasons the Packers’ will surprise the NFL in 2018.
