1. The Brewers have the NL’s best record

And, of course, if they overtake the Cubs in the division, that likely means they will end up having the best record in the NL and home field advantage through the NL playoffs. This accomplishment would mean wonderful things not only for the Brewers, but for the city of Milwaukee as well.

In this instance, the Brewers are lucky they play in the NL, as the AL is a powerhouse this season and boasts a number of teams who are running away with great records. Teams like the Boston Red Sox,  New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics all have better records than the top team in the NL.

Given this stoke of good luck, the Brewers don’t have to compete with any of those teams and can set their bar a it lower. This may be troubling for the NL team who makes it to the World Series, but if that’s the Brewers, they’ll gladly worry about that when the time comes. For now, let’s hope these five scenarios come to light.
