2. Brewers win the NL Central

The Brewers know the feeling of a second half collapse and allowing your biggest and closest rival to capture your glory. Man, they know it all too well.

They led the central for most of the time leading up to the break, but lost seven of eight during the final week. This included an embarrassing five game sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates and a blown opportunity in Sunday’s game. Even after all that, Milwaukee is only 2.5 back of the hated Cubs.

Given all the injuries the Brewers have had to fight through and the players who have yet to live up to par, they could consider themselves fortunate to be in this position. They’ve shown they are a resilient team who fill fight through adversity and never give up.

Because of that, Milwaukee will almost assuredly make a second half surge. This push will allow them to overtake Chicago and regain their lead on top of the Central.
