4. Josh Hader moves to closer

Setting all the Josh Hader tweets aside (I’ll get to that in another article), the Brewers were at their best when Hader was closing games. With him and fellow All-Star Jeremy Jeffress wrapping up the end of games, the Brewers were getting things done.

However, when Corey Knebel returned from his stint on the Disabled List, he also returned to his spot at the back end of the bullpen. While this may have seemed like the logical move at the time, Knebel has been far from the 2017 version of himself and hasn’t shows the same electric stuff or control from before.

In 25 innings in 2018, he’s been compiled a 3.91 ERA and has already given up five home runs (he gave up six in 75 innings last year) according to Baseball-Reference. That’s not good enough.

Knebel is still a talented player, don’t get me wrong. The Brewers just need to realize they have even more talented players in their bullpen this season. Hader should be allowed to regain his spot as the “closer” and help the Brewers get back to finish ball games.
