5. Blake Martinez

Inside linebacker Blake Martinez had a coming out party during his second season in 2017. After recording a modest 44 tackles during his freshman campaign, he ballooned that to 94 last year and emerged as the Packers’ top inside linebacker ahead of Jake Ryan.

Martinez still struggles somewhat in the passing game, but that should be covered up with the addition of Oren Burks. However, he’s an absolute stud in the running game and is always around the ball.

Martinez makes this list, not necessarily because he possesses an elite skill level (he doesn’t). It has more to do with the fact there’s a huge drop off behind him. Ryan has struggled mightily in recent seasons and appears to be falling out of favor with the coaching staff. If Martinez misses any time, the Packers will be forced to go to the failing Ryan and rookie Burks as their two main inside backers.
