Wisconsin Football: Ranking the opponents Part 2
3. Iowa Hawkeyes
Talk about stability, Kirk Ferentz has been at Iowa for 20 years and has done some incredible things at the university. Unless things go horribly wrong this season, Ferentz should secure his 150th victory at the school.
Iowa went 8-5 last year and should be right around that same record in 2018. Even though their running game is a weak point, they return a lot of people in the passing game including quarterback Nate Stanely, two of his best receivers and two tight ends.
Defensively, they have a lot of players with experience coming back and should be an adequate unit. It’s certainly not something they’ll be able to hang their hat on, but it won’t get them killed in games either.
This is also where the opponents get interesting and challenging for the Badgers. They travel to Iowa which is never an easy place to play. They could easily become upset there and ruin their chances at advancing to the college football playoff. They could also lose to the other two teams on this list so this will be a very important game for Wisconsin.
