The Green Bay Packers are notorious for finding undrafted free agents to contribute to their team. Here are five to keep an eye on for 2018.

The Green Bay Packers have done a pretty good job at signing undrafted free agents who can contribute to their team. The contributions aren’t always immediate, but they do happen at one point or another.

Players like Lane Taylor, Sam Shields, Tramon Williams and Ryan Grant are all successful undrafted free agents who shined with the Packers. These players success has also paved the way for players to sign with Green Bay, knowing they’ll get every opportunity.

Although there are way more “misses” than hits when it comes to these players, their signing comes at absolutely no risk to the team. The players usually go undrafted for a reason related to their football playing abilities. So if they confirm that thought on the field, Green Bay can cut ties with them at no cost in the future.

Still, it’s smart to explore all avenues available in order to try to improve your team on a yearly basis. This will be general manager Brian Gutekunst’s first crack at trying to prove whether he is as adept as his predecessor in this department. Let’s examine five undrafted free agents to keep an eye on.
